MAX MCGEE'S PROFILE
I CAN'T NOT MAKE GAMES.
I have enough lockerspace to hold an episode of Friends.
"We'll make a toast to absent friends and better days,
To remembering and being remembered as brave
And not as a bunch of whining jerks!
Don't lose your nerve.
Do not go straight
You must testify
(or I'm going to come to your house and punch you in the mouth)
cause CLOWNS MUST STAND."

WAR. MECH. SAGA.
Edit: Okay I tried to play this game and I have no idea what is going on. I am earnestly trying to make a thoughtful comment but I have no idea what is going on. I think that the 'Hero Start Position' is not in the right place or SOMETHING? Here's what happened...I started the game and I got for lack of a better word a "Boss Stage Intro" a la Megaman (actually I think the faceset was an actual PICTURE OF MEGAMAN) telling me (I think!?) I was going to fight a mech named task. I was then given the option to 'EXECUTE FLEET' or 'BACK' or something. Going 'BACK' leads to a city map a la megaman with two boxes but neither box seems to be selectable when I press escape I get the options to Shop, Save, or Exit to Menu. So I exited to title screen and started a new game again this time I chose Execute Fleet then I was shown a weird mini cutscene where I was told a tower would devour me or something. Then I was in a fight against an enemy. I had an ability called "End War" that did 9999 damage to all enemies...so I used that. Then I wound up on a map as a mech with on-touch encounters and a neat boost ability only the passability settings for the map's chipsets were wildly, wildly wrong and I was able to walk on the parallax background which should have been impassable. So I boosted around the map until I found a platform/dais thingy with a glowing red column of light protruding it but it didn't respond when I walked into it or pressed enter on it so then I finally noticed a Red Exclamation Mark icon in front of the dais so I stood on that and pressed enter and then it repeated the same cutscene and the same dialogue from before (the tower will devour you or whatever) and then it put me in a boss fight and then the boss one hit killed me before I could use my 'End War' auto-win ability.
So yeah in conclusion: ??? da fuq is this inscrutable gibberish!?

author=Marrendauthor=shayokoThat... might be taking Max's comment too literally. I'm reading it in a more "This game is so awesome, I want to play it now!" kind of way.
thats not a problem lol,and usually people makes threads for reasons i don't understand and would probably disagree with b4 even a demo is produced
was made only 5 days ago o.o
yeah...yeah this...I expect to be misunderstood sometimes but wow.
The Book of True Will
okay suckahs give me yo games
For the sake of courtesy, I am going to just let you know a couple games I won't be playing.
Farmyard Chronicles: Three step install process is too many steps. Sorry, but yes I am that lazy.
Touhou Fantasy: The files that comprise this game are too numerous and too gigantic.
I don't mean to be harsh but...packaging your game properly is a big part of making it accessible. While it might seem like throwing out a submission because I don't like the font used on the coverletter, when there are so many games vying for attention there's no reason to disqualify yourself by exporting or packing it in a bizarre and wonky way.
I'll go a step even further and say, if you're using RM2k3 or earlier, don't use an installer. Just zip your game into a single .rar archive or whatever. (flapbat, don't get me wrong, including fontpatch and harmony.dll is probably a really good idea when distributing games for the older engines.)
Edit: Whoops, didn't mean to make this a double post.

Should a game be completely transparent with its mechanic?
Question for everyone...There are many a game I have actually beaten without fully understanding some of the mechanics. Is this is a good thing or a bad thing (or I guess neutral)?
Red Hand of Doom
I get this error on bootup:
"The program can't start because MSVCR110.dll is missing from your computer."
Followed by the run time error Kory_Toombs mentioned. Which is a shame, I'd really like to play this, it's right up my alley.

The Interview
author=Liberty
Kim Jong-il is probably trying to make up for the rumours of a coup that had been spreading around the world while he was getting an operation (and thus, was out of the limelight.)
Wait, Kim Jong-il is dead...right? I think you mean Kim Jong-Un his rolly polly baby boy.

HE SO HAPPY! This industrial lubricant is the greatest thing he has ever seen.
The FBI (I think it was the FBI) released a report that North Korea WAS behind the Sony hacks. (Sony's the distributor for The Interview.)
North Korea has been threatening the US with "merciless retaliation" for this movie since before the first trailers came out. They clearly do not have a good sense of humor.
Fun fact...actual North Koreans generally speaking are inundated with propaganda of their leader including the fact that Kim Jong-Un avowedly DOES NOT POOP. I learned that from a promo interview promoting...The Interview.
Love
A lot of people felt that BE:D was pretty tasteless too. But nobody called for a boycott of it at least.
As long as it has release. Yeah I have no dog in the race as far as it being a "good" game or being a successful game I just want to make sure that the forces of censorship lose. That said, it's impossible to say for sure if the game is going for any kind of deeper message without getting a chance to play it.
